The members joined together, sharing services, infrastructure and values for the purpose of delivering a dynamic, person driven, holistic  service model that can successfully support the transfer and ongoing delivery of Specialist Disability Services (SDS) from the NSW Department of Family and Community Service (FACS) on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

Combined, the five consortium members have over 150 years’ experience in providing a wide range of services to local people with disability, including in-home support and respite services for people living in a shared home.

MNCDS is focused on people having the opportunity to live the life they choose, with support that is designed specifically around their individual needs. We believe that all people have equal rights and strongly advocate for a person’s full inclusion in their chosen community, the opportunity to contribute their individual gifts and strengths and to be recognised as citizens who are entitled to share the same spaces as every other community member. We engage with all people in a way which encourages and promotes opportunities for greater integrity, respect, courage, inclusion and trust.

As people living on the Mid North Coast transition across to the NDIS from July 2017, MNCDS will work with each individual, their families and carers to review their ‘My First Plan’, ensuring people receive the right individual support under the NDIS, so they can live their best life.

MNCDS are also committed to offering ongoing development and training to all staff to ensure they can always provide the best possible support as well as keeping informed about the NDIS.

The transfer of Family and Community Services (FACS) staff and clients in the ten accommodation homes to MNCDS will occur on 6th September, 2017. During the transfer period from May until 6th  September we unfortunately aren’t able to answer any questions you may have directly.  If you have any urgent queries or need to talk to someone regarding the transfer process, please refer to the contacts listed below.

The Mid North Coast Disability Services team is looking forward to meeting and welcoming you all to our organisation in the coming months.
